Courtney Carlson, DVM
Dr. Carlson grew up in Central Michigan and knew she wanted to be a veterinarian since kindergarten when she dressed up as a vet for her school’s Career Day. She continued to follow her passion for helping animals by graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and Neuroscience from Central Michigan University. She left Michigan briefly to attend The Ohio State University to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, but she is very excited to be back in beautiful Holland at Ottawa Animal Hospital!
She enjoys every aspect of veterinary medicine, but her special interests include animal behavior, internal medicine, and ophthalmology. She loves meeting new people and their pets and is especially interested in promoting the human-animal bond.
When not in the clinic, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, cross country skiing, baking, and reading. She has two adopted rescue kittens as her furry best friends!
